Instead of biting off more than it could chew, this snake swallowed more than it could digest.

A 6-foot boa constrictor named Killer underwent surgery today at Tampa’s BluePearl Veterinary Partners animal hospital after it ingested a towel.

An X-ray showed the large white mass stuck in the snake’s abdomen.

The staff performed the surgery with assistants from Frankie’s Friends, a Tampa-based charitable pet foundation that helps defray costs for pets’ families.

Doctors successfully removed the towel, and Killer is expected to make a full recovery, said James P. Judge, media and public relations manager for Blue Pearl.
