At least eight families have been displaced after a fire early Wednesday morning at a condominium complex in the Egypt Lake area of Tampa.
Hillsborough County Fire Rescue officials say the blaze at Manhattan Palms Condominium, 7210 N. Manhattan Ave., have been extinguished, but 32 additional apartments are affected by the evacuation and power loss.
North Manhattan Avenue has been shut down from Sligh Avenue to Waters Avenue while cleanup continues, Hillsborough deputies say.
The Red Cross will assist in helping the displaced families.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, according to Hillsborough County Fire Rescue.
