A 31-year-old woman was charged with felony animal cruelty on Saturday in connection with her emaciated dog, according to Hillsborough County Animal Services.

Natasha Chamberlain's 4-year old Great Dane, Bubbles, was recovered from Chamberlain's Tampa home last week after Animal Services received an anonymous tip about the dog. The dog weighed less than 54 pounds.

Chamberlain was arrested while working at International Plaza on Saturday.

Bubbles has gained 14 pounds within a week and appears to be on the mend, said Marti Ryan, an Animal Services spokeswoman. She is not yet available for adoption but Animal Services is hoping to make that possible in time for the holidays, Ryan said.

Anonymous tips can be made by calling 813-744-5660 or emailing info@hillsboroughcounty.org.
