More than 6,000 degrees will be awarded as the University of South Florida holds a series of commencement ceremonies beginning Friday.
The pomp and circumstance begins at 1:30 p.m. Friday, when undergraduates from the College of Arts & Sciences’ School of Social Sciences gather at the Sun Dome. At 6 p.m. Friday at the same site, undergraduates from the College of Arts & Sciences’ School of Humanities and School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics meet.
Ceremonies continue Saturday at 9 a.m., when undergrads from the College of Behavioral and Community Sciences and the College of Business receive their degrees at the Sun Dome.
At 1:30, those students give way to undergrads from the Colleges of Education, Engineering, Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, the Arts and Undergraduate Studies. Another Sun Dome ceremony starts at 6 p.m., recognizing graduate students from all colleges.
Commencement at USF St. Petersburg is 6 p.m. Sunday at the Mahaffey Theater. USF Sarasota-Manatee’s ceremony is at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Bradenton Area Convention Center.
The USF College of Medicine confers medical degrees on May 10 at 10 a.m. at the Straz Center.
The USF Tampa campus will award 5,140 degrees overall – 3,924 bachelor’s, 1,018 master’s, and 198 doctoral and specialists. USF St. Petersburg awards 454, and USF Sarasota-Manatee 290.
