A man was hospitalized with minor burns from a house fire Thursday morning in Tampa’s East Ybor area, authorities said.
Tampa Fire Rescue crews were dispatched at 11:10 a.m. to the blaze at 3513 E. 12th Ave., the agency said.
Firefighters found the single-story residence with heavy smoke and fire showing from the roof, according to a news release from Tampa Fire Rescue. The fire was under control in about 15 minutes.
Firefighters said they found a man outside the house with minor burns to the head. He was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment. No firefighters were injured.
The home suffered significant damage due to smoke and fire, Tampa Fire Rescue said.
The cause of the blaze was under investigation by the city fire marshal’s office.
