Hillsborough County detectives are seeking the public's assistance in identifying two suspects who assaulted a 71-year-old convenience store clerk in Seffner.

Detectives say two men confronted Hasimbhai Indawala at the U.S. 92 Convenience Store, 102 Highway 92 West and Kings Avenue in Seffner.

One man grabbed Indawala by the shirt and the second, holding a knife, forced Indawala to open the cash register, detectives said.

The men then proceeded to strike Indawala several times while he was on the floor, before stealing several packs of cigarettes and leaving the store, detectives said.

Indawala remains hospitalized with undisclosed injuries.

The first suspect is described as a male, about 5 feet 10 and 220 pounds, with light brown hair. He was last seen wearing a black shirt and jeans.

The second is described as a male, about 5 feet 9 and 160 pounds, with brown hair. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt and jeans.

Detectives say they were driving a four-door older-model Dodge or Chrysler sedan.
