A Virginia man was arrested after deputies said he stabbed three employees at an Inverness pharmacy while trying to obtain drugs early Sunday.
Jacob Kleintank, 31, faces three counts of aggravated battery and one count of robbery with a dangerous weapon, deputies said.
According to the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office, Kleintank had been in the CVS, at 602 W. Main St., several times Saturday evening trying to fill an out-of-state prescription.
Early Sunday morning, he entered the store, jumped over the pharmacy counter, demanded drugs and stabbed an employee with a knife several times in the hands, deputies said. Two other employees who tried to stop the attack were also stabbed before Kleintank was subdued, authorities said.
The employees survived the attack, although two were hospitalized, authorities said.
Investigators believed Kleintank was angry because the 24-hour pharmacy would not fill an out-of -state prescription.
Kleintank, of Alexandria, Va., was taken to the Citrus County jail without bail due to being a possible flight risk, the sheriff’s office said.
