Tip leads sheriff to grow house in Thonotosassa

Hillsborough County detectives, following an anonymous tip, busted a marijuana grow house today in Thonotosassa and seized $14,000 worth of the drug.

Christopher Dean Raulerson, 49, 11902 N. Grovewood Ave., Thonotosassa, is charged with cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the Orient Road Jail and bail is set at $4,500.

Detectives in the Special Investigation Division, Tactical Intelligence Team and Patrol District 2 deputies responded to the above address and got consent to search the residence, the sheriff’s office said. Once inside, they found two rooms converted for cultivating marijuana.

Authorities seized 102 marijuana plants as well as loose marijuana, which totaled 13.9 pounds, the sheriff’s office said. Also seized were high-powered, sodium grow lights and ballasts.

The street value of the marijuana is approximately $14,000, according to the sheriff’s office.

The tip came from Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay.
