Thieves used a stolen Jeep Cherokee early Sunday to smash into a Metro Mart and take some Dr. Dre headphones, according to Winter Haven police.

About 1:38 a.m., an older model red Cherokee rammed twice into the front windows of the store at 1140 6th St., N.W., Winter Haven, police said.

Two men, with their heads and hands covered, ran inside, jumped the counter and took four sets of beats by Dr. Dre headphones valued at more than $1,100, police said.

The Jeep, which has not been recovered, was later reported stolen from the Jan Phyl Village area, police said.

The two male suspects had their heads, faces and hands covered, police said. One suspect has long dreadlocks and was wearing a black hoodie, black long pants with white sneakers and a white T-shirt around his face. The second suspect was wearing a gray hoodie with light-colored shorts with red trim. He also had a white T-shirt across his face.

The Jeep was described as a red 1996 model with three stickers in the back window: a Ron John Surf Shop on the right, and “13.1” and “26.2” oval stickers on the left, police said.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Heartland Crime Stoppers at 1-800-226-TIPS (8477).
