An 18-year-old accused of robbing a couple in their 50s on the Pinellas Trail in February has been returned to Pinellas County from Georgia, where he was found by authorities hiding in a relative's home.
Germaine Davansha Small, of St. Petersburg, was extradicted from Henry County Jail in Georgia and booked into the Pinellas County Jail on Sunday afternoon. He was being held on $500,000 bail.
On March 6, the U.S. Marshals Service arrested Small, who turned 18 on March 8. Small was found hiding in the attic of his aunt's house in Lithonia, Ga., St. Petersburg police spokesman Mike Puetz said.
Small was with an accomplice at the time of the Feb. 1 robbery, but authorities have yet to publicly identify him, police said.
The female victim had teeth knocked out as Small and his accomplice took bicycles belonging to her and her husband on a stretch of the trail that cuts through the Childs Park neighborhood, investigators said.
