CRYSTAL RIVER — A Citrus High School math teacher had his teaching license suspended for two years after being arrested in Brooksville by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms.

The suspension was filed in October after Joseph Andrew Castorina, 33, was charged with one count of dealing in firearms without a license in 2010, and taken to the Hillsborough County Jail.

Castorina offered to obtain several firearms and resell them to an individual between Oct. 12, 2010 and Nov. 9, 2010, according to a copy of the final order issued by the Florida Department of Education.

Castorina did not have a license to sell the firearms, it states, and he also agreed to three years probation should he return to teaching.

Castorina pleaded guilty to the charge Aug. 31, 2011, and was adjudicated guilty.
