Tampa police seek bank robbery suspect with hand tattoo

Tampa police detectives are searching for a man who robbed the Pilot Bank at 3414 Bay to Bay Blvd. shortly after 2 p.m. today.

The man entered the bank wearing a dust mask and sunglasses and threatened a teller with a utility knife before receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

Security footage shows the suspect is white with a tattoo of a cross on the back of his left hand. He was wearing a black shirt and plaid pants, police said.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-8477 or text “CSTB” plus your tip to 274637. Anonymous tips leading to an arrest may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 in cash, police said.
