Gavin Carter, 23, was standing on the sidewalk on the north side of Floribraska Avenue at around 1:14 this morning when a grey or similar-colored sedan made a wide turn off of N. Nebraska Avenue and struck him, police said.

The driver of the car then drove away toward Interstate 275, police said.

Carter was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital with injuries that were not life threatening, police said.

A picture of the vehicle was taken from surveillance footage shortly before the accident, police said.
