A Tampa police officer’s vehicle was struck by another vehicle as two officers were investigating a crash near Tampa International Airport on Friday, Tampa police said.

The officers were investigating a crash at Memorial Highway and George J. Bean Parkway in the rain when another vehicle slid on the rainy surface, hydroplaned across two lanes of traffic and struck the Tampa police patrol car, said Lt. Brian Gant.

The two officers were outside of the patrol car investigating another crash when the accident occurred.

There were no injuries and the damage to the patrol car was very minor, Gant said.
