Citations at this year's Gasparilla celebration are down markedly from previous years, according to Tampa police.
As of this evening, there were 131 citations for alcohol and 68 adults arrested, police said. That compares 302 citations and about 50 arrests in 2012.
Last year, arrests fell markedly thanks to a city ordinance that let police issue citations to revelers drinking outside designated wet zones.
In 2011, 342 people were arrested, including 277 alcohol arrests, and 43 for underage drinking. In 2010, police arrested 415 people, including 367 "alcohol arrests" and nine for underage drinking.
Of this year's arrests, 60 were for misdemeanors such as disorderly conduct, petty theft, possession of marijuana and one charge of giving alcohol to a minor
Eight of the adult arrests were felonies.
31 of the misdemeanor arrests were underage drinking by an adult 18-20 years old, police said.
Two juveniles were arrested – one for underage drinking arrest and the other for theft.
