Tampa police arrested a 33-year-old Tampa man early this morning, charging him with vehicular homicide in a Feb. 20 crash at the corner of East Chelsea and North 40th streets.

Delvin Darrell Williams, 8513 Blue Ridge Drive, also was charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving bodily injury and aggravated fleeing to elude. Bail, set by the warrant, was $150,000 and Williams remained in the Hillsborough County jail this morning.

Tampa police said that on Feb. 20, Williams sped through a stop sign, lost control and crashed into another vehicle at the intersection.

An officer around the corner heard the crash and when the officer got to the scene, Williams ran away, police said. The officer gave chase and caught him about a block away.

The victim, identified as Antonio Lang, 29, 4902 N. MacDill Ave., was taken to Tampa General Hospital, but recently died, so the homicide charge was lodged, police said.
