Hillsborough County deputies have arrested a teen in connection with a fatal drug-related shooting at a Tampa apartment complex in the University area Tuesday morning.

Deputies say Demetrick Devaughn Anglin, 18, is being held without bond at the Hillsborough County Jail. He faces charges of second-degree murder and attempted robbery.

Deputies responding to a 911 call just before 3 a.m. at Avesta Apartments on 2016 E. 131st Ave., found 33-year-old Kortney Dubron Jerry of Riviera Beach, near West Palm Beach, lying in the grass with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body.

Jerry was found after deputies discovered a white 1999 Lincoln Town Car backed into a parking space, with the trunk and doors open, and the engine running.

After an investigation, deputies determined Anglin had conspired to rob Jerry during a drug deal.
