St. Petersburg police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a youth seen on home surveillance video during a car burglary.

Police say the suspect may be linked to other car burglaries in the area.

According to police, the suspect was seen about 2:20 a.m. July 22 entering an unlocked car in the 5500 block of Grove Street South.

Police say the suspect appears to be the same one captured in video surveillance obtained from 1800 block of Caesar Way South and two other locations in the Lakewood Estates neighborhood.

Five vehicle burglaries have taken place in the area between 54th Avenue South and 58th Avenue, from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street South to Fourth Street, police say.

The suspect was described as black, 15 to 20 years old, 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall, and 140 to 160 pounds. He had short black hair and was wearing black shorts and a gray T-shirt.
