A Tampa man suspected of shooting a neighbor whose dog pooped in his yard last month was arrested Friday in Palm Beach County, police said.
Joshame Sewell, 20, fled to Belle Glade after the shooting of Donte Roberson on the 9400 block of North 12th Street, Tampa police said.
The Oct. 24 incident began when Roberson’s dog defecated in Sewell’s yard and Sewall became enraged, police said. Sewell retrieved a rifle and opened fire on Roberson at 12:42 p.m., police said.
Roberson, 30, was struck several times in the right leg and once in the right hand, police said. He was still recovering at a Tampa hospital.
During an investigation, detectives identified Sewell as the suspect and issued a warrant for his arrest, police said. With assistance from U.S. Marshals, Sewell was located and arrested in Belle Glade at 5:06 p.m. Friday, police said.
Sewell, of 9409 N. 12th St., was being held at the Palm Beach County Jail on Monday, awaiting extradition to Hillsborough County.
