A bomb threat made Monday from Jacksonville mentioned an employee at a Sarasota elementary school but did not target the school, authorities said.
The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office said it conducted a search Monday night at Fruitville Elementary, 601 Honore Ave., and met with school employees and school district security personnel.
Nothing suspicious was found, deputies said.
Nevertheless, there was added law enforcement at the school Tuesday out of an abundance of caution, the sheriff’s office said.
The threat was made by a woman from her home in Jacksonville to a man in Texas, the sheriff’s office said.
