Two men in Sarasota County face rape charges in a case involving a younger relative, authorities said.

The 14-year-old girl told detectives that over the past four years the men would use a butter knife to unlock her bedroom door, enter the room and have sex with her, Sarasota police said.

On June 27, the girl confided in a friend and detectives were called, the sheriff's office said.

Kyle Riley, 25, was taken into custody early Thursday, and Joshua Riley, 22, was arrested July 3, police said.

After his arrest, Joshua Riley agreed to be interviewed by detectives and undergo a polygraph, authorities said. During the interview, according to an arrest affidavit, Riley confessed to molesting the girl for two years beginning when he 8 and the girl was an infant, but not "in years," the affidavit said.

A warrant for Kyle Riley's arrest was issued, and deputies with the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office said they took him into custody just after midnight Thursday.

The relationship of the three people was not released by authorities.

Kyle and Joshua Riley face charges of capital sexual battery and incest. They are being held at the Sarasota County Jail without bail.
