Polk man sought in shooting of girlfriend

Polk County sheriff's deputies are seeking information on the whereabouts of a man who they say shot his girlfriend three times in the head Tuesday.

Randall Scott Miller, 44, has a warrant for his arrest on attempted murder and kidnapping charges. Deputies say Miller shot Micki Pickern, 52, three times about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Lake Van Road and CCR 559 in Auburndale.

Pickern was shot once in the back of the head, once in the side of the head, and once in the face. She is in stable condition at a local hospital, deputies said.

Miller is a white male, 5-foot-11 and 200 pounds., with brown hair cut in a crewcut, blue eyes, a Marine Corps tattoo on his left arm, and a scar over his left eye. His last known address is 563 Cone Road, No. 1, Auburndale. He may be driving a white 1998 Chevy pickup truck, Florida tag K29 7TL.

He was previously arrested in Polk County for battery, battery domestic violence and child abuse. He is to be considered armed and dangerous, deputies said.
