According to a report, the Republic Services Inc. truck was headed east across Lakeland Highlands Road when it was struck by the Harley Davidson motorcycle, which was traveling south. The motorcycle hit the truck on the driver’s side door.

A man and a woman on the motorcycle died at the scene, deputies said. Their identities are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The truck was driven by Bobby Caswell, 39, of Brandon.
