Police: Man seen using credit card from Tampa carjacking

Published:

Tampa police are looking for a man seen on a security camera using a credit card stolen last week from the victim of a carjacking.

Another suspect was previously arrested in the carjacking, but investigators said the man in the surveillance images may have some involvement.

At 4:40 a.m. July 22, a man pointed a gun at a woman and took her car on the 5500 block of North Himes Avenue, police said.

Sergio Daniel Archilla, 20, of Tampa, was arrested Thursday, accused of armed carjacking, possession of a stolen credit card and violation of probation. He was being held at the Hillsborough County Jail without bail.

Archilla had been released from the jail on probation July 6 - 16 days before the carjacking - after being charged March 31 with grand theft auto and other crimes, according to jail records.

Anyone with information about the man in the surveillance images was asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1- 800-873-TIPS (8477).
