A Tampa man suffered non-life threatening injuries early this morning after he was shot by an acquaintance in her Davis Islands home.

Police say Andrew Tyler Noll, 23, called 911 just before midnight to report he had been shot in the chest.

Moments later, police say they received a second 911 call from 28-year-old Michal Simpson, saying she shot an intruder in her home.

When police arrived, Noll was lying on the second-story floor of the 5,500-square-foot home at 420 Riviera Drive with a gunshot wound to the chest.

A preliminary investigation indicates Simpson and Noll are aquainted, but detectives are determining why Noll was in the home and what led to the shooting.

Noll was transported to Tampa General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police say.

Police continue to investigate the shooting.
