Police detectives are investigating a pair of early-morning shootings in a northern Tampa neighborhood.

Tampa police officers responded to gunshots fired on E. Skagway Avenue at about 4 this morning and discovered a person shot at the intersection of Skagway and Nebraska Ave. That person was taken to Tampa General Hospital with potentially life threatening injuries, police said.

Within minutes, police received another call that a person had arrived at nearby Florida Hospital on Fletcher Avenue with a gunshot wound.

The incidents to not appear to be a random act, police said. Witnesses are being uncooperative and detectives are working to identify the identity people who were shot, police said.
