A man walked into his apartment early Tuesday and discovered two armed burglars inside who confronted him, robbed him and punched him in the face, Tampa police said.
The incident occurred about 12:15 a.m. Tuesday as the 27-year-old entered his home at Arbor Ponds Apartments, 2901 N. Dale Mabry Highway, and was suddenly confronted by the intruders, police said.
The intruders pointed handguns at him, demanded money and then ransacked the apartment, police said.
Before fleeing on foot, the intruders punched the resident in the face, police said. The man suffered lacerations and had two teeth knocked out, police said.
The victim ran to a nearby convenience store to call police.
Police are still looking for the suspects, who were described by investigators as “light-skin Hispanic males” in their mid-20s, each weighing about 200 pounds.
