TAMPA -

Police have identified two of the three people injured in a fracas Sunday night at Ben T. Davis Beach that eventually led to a police chase and crash.

The incident started about 7:30 p.m. when about 100 people were at the beach on Courtney Campbell Causeway.

Rome Harmon, 21, was shot in the buttocks, the Tampa Police Department said in a news release. His injury was not life-threatening, and was released from the hospital.

Andre Meyers, 37, was hit in the head with a bottle, police said. He was still hospitalized Monday morning, although his injuries were not life-threatening.

An unidentified man was treated and released from the hospital with a minor arm injury. Police initially said he had been stabbed but later said it was unclear how he was injured.

Officers were nearby when someone called 911 after the shots were fired. As police arrived at the beach, four people sped away from the scene in a maroon 2007 Chevrolet.

The officers followed, and the pursuit ended with the Chevy crashing into a guardrail at Kennedy Boulevard and Memorial Highway.

The driver was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver was not charged; police are trying to determine whether he was involved in the shooting.

The three passengers were arrested, interviewed and released.
