A Plant City 11-year-old boy rescued a 3-year-old boy who nearly drowned Thursday afternoon in a hotel pool, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said.

Riley Cooper saw Dominic Cicco unresponsive in the pool at the Holiday Inn, 401 2nd St., Indian Rocks Beach, and helped pull the boy from the water, the sheriff’s office said.

Adults administered CPR and called 911 just before 4 p.m. Cicco, of Tallahassee, was in the pool with his father, the sheriff’s office said.

Cicco was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries, the sheriff’s office said.

The case remains under investigation, the sheriff’s office said.

At this time, the incident appears to be an accident and no charges are pending, the sheriff’s office said.
