A teenage pedestrian was killed early today after being struck by one vehicle and run over by another in St. Pete Beach, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said.

About 12:44 a.m., Patrick McClean, 17, 5366 7th Ave. N., St. Petersburg, was crossing Gulf Boulevard in the middle of the 4900 block when he was struck by a 2011 Hyundai driven by Patsy Harris, 50, 737 Pinellas Bayway S., Unit 106, Tierra Verde, in the southbound lanes, deputies said.

McClean was then run over by a 2008 Volkswagen driven by Sean Daniel, 27, 2108 W. Spruce St., Tampa, deputies said. McClean was declared dead at the scene.

Deputies said alcohol may be a factor in the crash, because both drivers showed signs of impairment.

The road was closed for several hours while the incident was investigated, deputies said.

The investigation continues.
