A Cincinnati area postal worker seen in amateur video tossing mail into a dumpster could face federal charges, officials said.
The video was taken by an apartment dweller in the Bond Hill neighborhood after residents there complained their mail was not being delivered or placed in the wrong boxes over the past month, WLWT-TV in Cincinnati reported.
The U.S. Postal Service would not identify the employee but said she was placed on leave while its Office of Inspector General looks into the case.
In the video, the carrier is seen tossing large amounts of mail in the trash bin.
“This is clearly unacceptable behavior that does not reflect the efforts of thousands of professional, dedicated carriers in our workforce,” U.S. Postal Service spokesman David Van Allen said in a statement.
