A woman and her two great-grandchildren reported missing on Thursday were home in Miami and safe Friday afternoon, authorities said.
Carneva Harrison Ashley, 69, was driving a rental car from Ocala on Thursday with her 5-year-old great-granddaughter and 2-year-old great-grandson. They had not arrived home by Thursday night so the children’s mother called authorities and a statewide Missing Child Alert was issued.
On Friday morning, the mother called police to report Ashley had brought the children home. Ashley told police she had arrived in Miami on Thursday night and decided to stay overnight at her brother’s home, which is near the car-rental facility.
