Man steals bracelets from Countryside mall kiosk

Clearwater police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who stole thousands of dollars worth of jewelry from a kiosk at Westfield Countryside mall on Wednesday.

The theft occurred about 2:30 p.m. on the second level near the food court at the Meher Jewelers kiosk, police said.

A man tried on a gold necklace with a diamond cross, then asked a store employee to see bracelets that would match, police said. The worker returned with a tray of bracelets, which the man grabbed before running from the mall, police said.

The suspect got into a waiting gray vehicle, driven by a woman, and left the scene.

A surveillance image the suspect was released by police.

He was described by police as black, about 30 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 160 pounds, clean shaven and with short hair. He was wearing a blue T-shirt, black jacket and blue jeans.
