Man stabbed in rear during Riverview drive-thru dispute

Published:

A Lakeland man was stabbed in the buttocks Wednesday morning during a road-rage incident with a woman in the drive-thru of a McDonald’s in Riverview, sheriff’s deputies said.

Deputies said the dispute began when Rebecca Simmons, of Tampa, used her car to cut in front of Mohammad Abukhder’s 2000 Honda Civic in the drive-thru, at 13118 U.S. 301 S.

Abukhder became upset and shouted profanities at Simmons, deputies said. Simmons then left her vehicle with a knife and stabbed the hood of Abukhder’s car, causing about $200 in damage, deputies said.

Abukhder, 36, then exited his Honda, walked over to Simmons’ vehicle and attempted to remove the keys so she could not leave, deputies said.

Simmons, 45, followed Abukhder to her vehicle and stabbed him the right buttocks, causing a small puncture wound, deputies said. Abukhder’ did not require medical attention.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said deputies arrived at 9:20 a.m.

Simmons, of 7513 N. Lois Ave., was arrested and taken to the Orient Road Jail on charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and criminal mischief with property damage.
