A Seminole man was charged this morning after he shot a neighbor with whom he has been having an ongoing dispute.

Pinellas County deputies say Donald Hindes Sr., 81, shot Richard Wacker, 47, Wednesday around 9 p.m. at the entrance of the Kapok Grand subdivision at Kapok Grand Circle and Duhme Road in unincorporated Seminole.

According to deputies, Wacker went to Hindes' home to confront him about an ongoing dispute.

Wacker left after Hindes did not answer, and a short time later, deputies say Hindes left his house and drove away.

As Hindes was exiting the subdivision gate, deputies say Wacker appeared from behind some bushes and began pounding on Hindes' window.

Hindes then fired a shot at Wacker from within his vehicle, deputies say.

Wacker was transported to Bayfront Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Hindes was charged with aggravated battery with a firearm.
