A 36-year-old massage therapist in Largo is jailed on a charge of sexual battery for touching a woman inappropriately, and investigators are seeking other victims.

Ronald D. Bruinius, 36, of 10570 68th Ave. N., Largo, was arrested at his business Monday on one count of sexual battery. He is being held in the Pinellas County Jail on $50,000 bond.

According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, he inappropriately touched a 53-year-old woman during a massage session July 24 at Ronnie’s Body Work Massage, 10671 104th Ave. N., Largo. Detectives began investigating on Nov. 19 when the victim reported the incident.

The woman told detectives that she bought five massages via a “Groupon” special. She had no concerns with the first two massages, but during the third Bruinius touched her inappropriately, the sheriff’s office said. The woman told investigators that she did not confront him because she thought it was a mistake. But he touched her in a sexual manner on the fifth visit, and she ended the session.

Detectives say there might be other victims and ask anyone with information to contact Detective Guy Kirby at (727) 582-6200.
