Lakeland man sentenced in underage sex trafficking case

Published:

A Lakeland man was sentenced to more than 33 years and nine months in prison Thursday after pleading guilty to federal charges involving sex trafficking and child pornography.

Michael Gallon, 48, also will serve a concurrent 20-year term in federal prison for distributing child pornography and was ordered to serve a lifetime of supervision upon his release.

Gallon in February pleaded guilty in February after he was accused of forcing minors to dance and perform sex acts at parties.

Michael Gallon was a “pimp” who recruited adult and underage females to join his “dance team,” according to the plea agreement. Gallon then transported the females to bachelor parties and house parties around the state that he arranged, prosecutors said.

The females danced and performed acts of prostitution at the parties, according to the plea agreement.

Gallon set up “VIP” rooms at each of the parties, where he would encourage the females to engage in commercial sex acts, according to court documents. Gallon charged the women to use the “VIP” rooms and kept most of the money earned, prosecutors said.

Law enforcement has identified at least 12 underage victims, U.S. Attorney A. Lee Bentley III said in a news release. One victim was as young as 14, investigators said.
