Gunman sought in Burger King robbery

Published:

Tampa police detectives are asking for the public's help finding a gunman who robbed a Burger King in New Tampa on Tuesday.

Just after midnight, the manager of the Burger King at 20590 Bruce B. Downs Blvd. opened the back door of the restaurant and a gunman barged in, police said. The manager was waiting for a cleaning crew to arrive.

The gunman calmly walked around the business, took about $100 from a register and then fled, police said. The gunman wore gloves and had the lower part of his face covered.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-873-TIPS (8477) to be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
