Pinellas County detectives have accused a former St. Petersburg teacher with having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old boy.

Elisha Joy Kingsley, 39, faces one count of unlawful sexual activity with a minor, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said.

The incident occurred on or around July 5, detectives said.

Detectives said Kingsley met the victim while she was teaching at the private Canterbury School in St. Petersburg. They started text messaging in June and later began meeting in person throughout Pinellas County, the sheriff’s office said.

Anyone with information about this investigation or other potential victims should contact Detective J. Stibbard with the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office at (727) 582-6200. Or contact Crime Stoppers 1-800-873-TIPS (8477) or www.crimestoppersofpinellas.org to remain anonymous and be eligible for a reward.
