Five people arrested in Spring Hill drug bust

Five people were arrested when Hernando County sheriff's vice and narcotics detectives served a warrant on a home next to a daycare center today, the sheriff's office said.

The search warrant was obtained after complains about possible drug activity at 2337 Pomeroy Road, deputies said. The residence is 25 feet from Mrs. B's Daycare, 13238 Spring Hill Drive.

Before executing the search warrant, detectives contacted daycare workers, who ensured all children were inside the daycare center during the operation.

Those arrested include:

-- Aren A. Rivera , 21, who was charged with possession of marijuana - less than 20 grams; possession of paraphernalia, and on a warrant for two counts of driving while license was suspended or revoked. Total bond was set at $2,000.

-- Pedro Rivera, 18, who was charged with possession of marijuana - less than 20 grams; and possession of paraphernalia. Total bond was set at $1,000.

-- Sara L. Arbolaez, 46, who was charged with possession of marijuana - less than 20 grams; and possession of a prescription drug. She was issued a notice to appear.

-- Elizabeth Ruiz, 19, who was charged with possession of Marijuana - less than 20 grams. She was issued a notice to appear.

-- One juvenile, who was arrested for misdemeanor drug charges. The juvenile was processed and released to the Department of Children and Families.

Two children in the residence were turned over to DCF.

Seized during the operation were 1.77 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia; a digital scale with marijuana residue; plastic baggies with marijuana residue; a cell phone, a laptop computer and prescription drugs
