The Florida Highway Patrol is seeking the public's help in solving a fatal hit-and-run that took place in November on U.S. 301 in Wimauma.

Visibility was limited due to darkness and heavy fog as Alexander Klim, 20, of Brandon, drove south on U.S. 301 just before 2 a.m. Nov. 4, troopers said.

Just north of Willow Road, another vehicle, traveling north, left its lane and struck Klim's 1996 Acura Integra, troopers said.

Klim lost control of the Integra, which left the road and hit a fence and tree, troopers said.

Klim's passenger, Miguel Colon, 22, of Brandon, was critically injured by the impact and taken to Tampa General Hospital, where he died Nov. 10, troopers said.

The other vehicle failed to stop and left the scene.

Seven months later, the Florida Highway Patrol still has no information on that vehicle or its driver.

Anyone with information was asked to contact homicide investigator Cpl. Roger Cheshire at (813) 631-4020.
