Deputies seek suspect in Brandon mall robbery

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Department is seeking the public’s help in finding a female suspect in a Brandon robbery who later threatened a loss prevention officer with a knife.

The suspect is seen on surveillance video leaving the JCPenney store at Westfield Brandon mall with shoes and clothing items on Jan. 27 between 7:55 p.m. and 8:04 p.m. without paying for the items.

When confronted by the loss prevention officer, deputies say the suspect dropped the merchandise and produced a large silver knife with a 6-inch blade.

The suspect then left in a gold Chrysler PT Cruiser, deputies say.

The woman is described as a white femal, between 30-49 years old, 5 feet 6 and 170 pounds. She is heavy-set with blonde hair and blue eyes, and was last seen wearing a black jackets, light pink T-shirt, dark green pants and sneakers.
