A teenager was in serious condition after he was beaten by three youths early Monday at Siesta Beach, Sarasota County deputies said.
The attack occurred about 12:45 a.m. near the beach’s pavilion-picnic area, deputies said.
The victim was flown by Bayflite to Blake Medical Center, deputies said.
Sheriff’s officials are looking for the attackers and have asked for the public’s help in identifying them.
According to deputies, two of the suspects are 15- to 20-year-old white males, 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet tall with slender builds and short, light-color hair.
One was wearing khaki shorts, the other had jean shorts.
The other suspect was described as in his mid-20s and “big-boned,” with ear-length, dark, curly hair. He was wearing a tank top and shorts.
All three reportedly frequent the Payne Park area, deputies said.
Anyone with information was asked to contact Detective Kim McGath at (941) 861-4928 or email@example.com. Or contact Crime Stoppers at (941) 366-TIPS (8477).
The sheriff’s office said the victim was improperly classified as homeless.
