Seven people were arrested on drug-related charges today and $17,000 in crack cocaine was seized after a two-day sweep in Clearwater.
The seizure at multiple locations on Tuesday and Wednesday also yielded seven guns — including an assault rifle — three vehicles, marijuana and cash, Clearwater police say.
Many of those arrested have lengthy prior criminal records, police say.
“Getting these guns out of the hands of criminals and getting these drugs off the streets is a huge deal,” said Clearwater Police Chief Tony Holloway. “We want these drug dealers to know that we’re watching them, and we’re coming for them.”
The search warrants were served at 1616 N. Madison St., 207 S. Pennsylvania Ave., 1714 Bentley St. and 1408 Arden Ave., police say.
Charges were filed against Marquis Bass, 20; Freddie Patterson, 20; Jamayn Johnson, 35; Daryl Dixon, 26; Eric Riles, 45; Fatini Morad, 48; and Willie Daniels, 31.
All were taken to the Pinellas County Jail, police say.
