Clearwater police seek Best Buy robbery suspect

Clearwater police are seeking the public’s help in locating a suspect who stole video games from a Best Buy and then bowled over three employees as they tried to stop him.

The incident took place on Monday, just before 9 p.m., at the store on 21415 U.S. Hwy. 19 N.

Police say the suspect is seen on surveillance video placing about 10 Xbox and PlayStation 3 video games into a black camera case he picked up from another part of the store.

He was stopped by workers as he tried to leave the store, police say.

Although it is not seen on surveillance video, police say the suspect knocked down three employees as he ran out of the store.

One of the employees suffered a possible broken finger, police say.

The suspect dropped the items in the parking lot after he left the store, police say.

The suspect was described as a black male in his middle 20s, wearing a black T-shirt and long gray shorts.

Anyone with information is asked to call (727) 562-4242.
