Published:

A Clearwater man was charged Friday with multiple counts of sexual battery on a child that occurred over the last 11 years, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said.

Donnie Floyd, 57, has been charged with capital sexual battery, five counts of sex battery familial, five counts of sexual performance by a child and five counts of child pornography.

The victim is a girl who Floyd knows, the sheriff’s office said.

The Barre Town Police Department in Vermont contacted the sheriff’s Crimes Against Children Unit about a sex crime investigation they were working on where some of the unlawful acts occurred in Pinellas County, the sheriff’s office said.

The victim told investigators that Floyd had touched her in a sexual manner multiple times from the age of 5 to the age of 16, the sheriff’s office said.

Detectives obtained a search warrant on Friday to enter Floyd’s home. After entering the home, investigators found videos and pictures on Floyd’s portable hard drive, the sheriff’s office said.

The case remains under investigation.
