Brooksville man pleads guilty to federal child porn charges

Published:

A Brooksville man faces up to 20 years in prison after he pleaded guilty today to transportation of child pornography in federal court, according to Acting United States Attorney A. Lee Bentley III.

Sentencing for Paul Thorpe, 43, is set for Oct. 24. The charge carries a minimum 5-year sentence.

According to the plea agreement, an undercover agent downloaded 33 images and a video from an IP address connected to Thorpe. On Jan. 31, law enforcement got a search warrant and seized Thorpe's computer, and they found it contained 155 images of child pornography.

Thorpe confessed to possessing, receiving, and transporting child pornography, Bentley said.
