The body of a man found in a wooded area in Tarpon Springs on Friday is that of a Citrus County man who went missing in Pasco County last week, deputies have confirmed.
Through fingerprint analysis, detectives identified the body of Billy Shuler, 69, of Homosassa, which was found south of B21 Liquors in Tarpon Springs.
Deputies are continuing to search for Anthony Maresca, 51, of Holiday, whom Shuler was meeting possibly last week for a transaction on collectible coins, deputies say.
Maresca was last seen in the Tarpon Springs area after Shuler was reported missing, deputies say.
Shuler’s truck was located Wednesday outside a storage facility at 5334 Provost Drive, Holiday, and evidence found inside the truck suggested foul play, deputies say.
Anyone with information on Maresca’s location is asked to call Tampa Bay Crimestoppers at 1 (800) 873-TIPS, leave a tip on the sheriff’s office phone app, or visit the Pasco County Sheriff’s office website, or leave a tip via the sheriff’s office phone app.
