Beware the wolfman! Robber wearing mask hits St. Pete store

The wolfman has been seen on the streets of St. Petersburg and last spotted this week at a convenience store that he robbed.

The St, Petersburg Police Department is now on the look out for him.

A man wearing a wolfman mask entered a Circle K, 2749 9th Ave. North, at around 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Surveillance video shows that when he walked in wearing the mask, a customer who was walking out glanced at him and smiled, probably thinking it was some kind of joke.

But the man behind the wolfman mask was planning a robbery. He walked to the counter, pointed a handgun at the clerk and threw the clerk a plastic bag demanding all the money, police said.

After he got the cash, the suspect ran to a nearby alley where he took off from the scene in a Toyota Corolla from the 1990s.

The suspect is described as a black man who is about 6-foot-2 tall and weighs around 192 pounds. He has a muscular build and was last seen wearing dark work pants and a gray long-sleeved shirt.
