A man who robbed a New Port Richey bank this afternoon was arrested only minutes later, the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office said.
According to deputies, Alan Robert Peterson, 43, 616 Southwest Blvd., St. Petersburg, walked into the Wells Fargo Bank at 6013 State Road 54 and demanded money from a teller. Peterson fled with an undisclosed amount of money, deputies said.
A witness saw him fleeing and got a description of his vehicle and a tag number. A Pasco deputy saw the vehicle and stopped it near Flora Avenue and U.S. 19 less than a half-hour after the robbery.
Peterson is being booked into the Land O’ Lakes Detention Center, deputies said.
